How Ya Feeling?
Let’s prep for a feelings ritual for Sunday’s New Moon in Pisces + Tarot reading resource
Sunday’s New Moon is in Pisces, so I thought it’d be fun to consider a New Moon ritual aligned to Pisces themes: emotion, empathy, the subconscious, flexibility. Since you have a few days to prep, you can invent your own ritual or use the suggestion below, which is heavily influcenced by Lisa Ferentz’s CARESS method. Even if you can’t do the ritual literally on Sunday, this one will help you get in touch with and express any feelings you need to feel.
Reflection Questions:
Take at least a minute and be still. Pay attention to your breath and body. Notice what sensations and emotions emerge?
What needs your empathy right now?
How would you like to shift how you relate to your emotions in the next month?
Tarot Spread:
To use this spread:
Shuffle your Tarot or oracle cards, setting the intention to explore the theme. Lay out three cards, as shown in the diagram. Start with the left, then middle, then right. Interpret each card based on the intention set for each card. Reflect on the guidance you’ve received.
Suggested Ritual:
Connect with water: place a shell or bowl of water on your altar, take a bath, go outside in the rain.
Set a time for at least 10 minutes.
Write or draw everything you’re feeling. If you run out of feelings, go inside, notice what’s there and write that. Keep going until your time goes off. Add more time if you need it.
Reset your timer.
Move your body. Maybe move like water. Maybe run. Maybe box, or dance, or stretch. Maybe let the feelings flow out of you as you move. Maybe your movement gently jostles them free. Just move until your timer goes off. Add more time if you need it.
Reset your timer.
Do something cozy and soothing: curl up with a blanket, cuddle with a sleepy fur or human friend, sip a cup of tea on the couch, color, take deep breaths.
Notice: how do you feel now that you’ve made space for your feelings? what’s different from before? what from this ritual do you want to carry with you through this month?
As always, I’d love to hear about your experience with an email reply or in the comments.
!!!Tarot Reading Resource!!!
My favorite Tarot reader —who predicted my divorce and has helped me process many difficult and joyful life happenings with her readings— is planning to offer a Tarot reading class. Since many of you have asked for resources for reading Tarot, I wanted to share her survey. If you’re interested in learning with her, complete her 5-item questionnaire so you can have input into when and how the class will be offered: https://forms.gle/N6zoZKwe2BspXLsp7
